You can visit sites linked to the history of Champagne all round the magnificent little village of Oeuilly and also very easily take full advantage of the landscape of the Marne valley vineyards following various footpaths.

The Champagne House at Oeuilly

A genuine vintner's house dating back to 1642.
A guided visit of the Museum which recreates the life of a rural family at the end of the 19th century.

The Hautvillers Abbey

In which the tombstone of Dom Pérignon is to be found.
Rue de Cumières, Hautvillers.
Guided visits: saturdays and sundays, from 9h30 to 12h and from 14h to 18 h. Tel: 03 26 57 06 35.

The Château de Boursault

This was built in 1845 for the widow Clicquot by the architect Jean-Jacques Arveuf-Franquin in a neo-renaissance style. Famous owner of the "Veuve Clicquot-Ponsardin" Champagne house, the widow conceived it and decorated it to organise sumptuous receptions. Tel: 03 26 58 42 21.

The Marne on Foot

The Marne on foot offers 42 routes for walking and rambling throughout the department, of which one marked track goes through Oeuilly. There's a patchwork of vines and of little lively, homely and welcoming villages dotted all over the slopes of the valley.

IrmaVepLab at Chatillon sur Marne

Place of contemporary creativity, the house belonged to Musidora, an extremely popular French silent film actress.
