Oeuilly Red Vintage 1996:
Pinot noir and pinot meunier, gathered solely from the plots called
“Notre Dame” and “Longue Attente” produce a
red wine from the Champagne region which is noble and intense with incomparable
characteristics.
Harvest: 1996
Grapes: 80% Pinot Noir, 20% Pinot Meunier
Terroirs: Vineyard: "Notre Dame" and "Longue Attente"
Vinification: Hand picked, sorted and destemmed
grapes.
Cold maceration.
Aged 18 months in barrels.
Bottling: September 1999
On the eye: Rubis red.
Nose: Fruity bouquet, with intense aromas of red fruits, cherry and prune.
Mouth: Ripe red fruit and vanilla, accompanied by hints of stone fruit kernels and leather. Warm, mature and of good length.
Food & wine: Goes well with picnics in the country, cold meats and cheeses.
